Swiss Art Expo at Zürich Main Train Station

For five days, the SBB event hall in Zurich’s main train station is Switzerland’s art mecca. The Swiss Art Expo art festival presented by Artboxy will take place there from September 6 to 10, 2023, where 80,000 daily passers-by can admire contemporary art from all over the world.

The SwissArtExpo 2023 Press-Communiqué on my works can now be seen on pressetext.

The Philosophical Egg: Fibonacci

The exhibition location is special for me because the well-known large-format Fibonacci artwork “The Philosophical Egg” by Mario Merz (1925-2003) hovers over the entrance to the hall.

The Italian artist was a prominent member of the Arte Povera movement. He exhibited his installations at various locations. The work in Zurich main station is a neon installation with a red spiral and animals with Fibonacci numbers.

He showed other Fibonacci works at the Center for International Light Art in Hanna, Germany (Fibonacci numbers in neon on a tower) and on the dome of the Mole Antonelliana in Turino, Italy (neon installation Fibonacci numbers on the dome).
