Freudenfels Castle Culture Days

Under the title FREUDENFELS CASTLE CULTURE DAYS 2027, a contemporary art project is taking place, organised by the Eastern Swiss artists’ collective ohm41 in collaboration with Freudenfels Castle.

Making use of the castle and its grounds, ideas and activities will take place that are open to the public. Explanations of objects, people and interventions form part of the overall concept – and methodological and educational elements, which are always an integral part of ohm41 projects, are equally important.

The ohm41 curators have deliberately chosen not to select a specific exhibition theme for the Culture Days. In this way, they create a framework within which the participating institutions
and artists can respond independently to the location and the occasion. This gives rise to a polyphonic fabric of artistic installations.

I would like to thank the curators of ohm41 for inviting me to take part in this extraordinary project.

Freudenfels Castle

Freudenfels Castle was once a medieval fortification on Lake Constance and is now an oasis of tranquillity, beautifully situated amidst unspoilt countryside with views of the Untersee.

Today, the castle is used, amongst other things, as an event and conference hotel.
