Concept

Fibonacci Rhomboids

The Fibonacci Rhomboids collection shows arrangements of Fibonacci rhomboids (geometric quadrangles with opposite sides being parallel), whose short and long side lengths are two consecutive Fibonacci numbers. The two small angles in the rhomboid were chosen to be 72º to match the base angle of the golden triangle. The two major angles are 108º and correspond to the interior angles of a pentagon.

Rhomboid growth is designed so that the length of one rhomboid becomes the width of the subsequent rhomboid.

Anordnung

The smallest rhomboid is a 1×1 rhombus and forms the origin of the image. Starting from this, the following rhomboids are rotated in a spiral form by 72º each and placed on the preceding rhomboid. The length / width equality of consecutive rhomboids becomes visible. The rotation creates a spirally growing figure, which resembles a star due to the reference to the pentagon. After every five turns, another round of the spiral is completed. The arrangement creates a three-dimensional effect after a longer viewing.
