Ermitage Cultural Centre in Beckenried
The Ermitage Cultural Association (Kulturverein Ermitage) is an active association in the canton of Nidwalden with 250 members. Its aim is to organise social and cultural events, promote culture and create a forum for creativity in Beckenried.
The association organises around twelve events each year in the fields of music, theatre, film, cabaret and exhibitions. The exhibitions are curated by Cinzia Gualandi.
The Ermitage cultural centre (Kulturraum Ermitage) is the former residence of Beckenried writer Isabelle Kaiser (1866–1925). Beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Lucerne, it is now used by the Ermitage cultural association for its events.
Werke in der Ausstellung
Among other things, the exhibition also features the latest sculpture, entitled ‘Fibonacci Cubed’. Further works will be announced in due course.

The Ermitage Cultural Centre is open on Saturdays and Sundays:

Duo defacto
The duo defacto comprises the Mauritian singer Charonne Débora Placathose and the Swiss bassist Andi Fuhrer. Together, they present a diverse repertoire ranging from soulful classics by Nina Simone, Etta James and Chick Corea, through poetic French chansons, to Creole pieces from Charonne’s homeland, Mauritius. The harmonically intriguing arrangements arise from the interplay between Charonne’s moving, soulful vocals and Andi’s multifaceted chord work on his multi-stringed, custom-designed basses.
